The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is a United States trade organization dedicated to the HVACR industry with more than 300 members worldwide, comprising greater than 90 percent of the residential and commercial air conditioning, space heating, water heating, and commercial refrigeration equipment manufactured and sold in North America. LG Electronics USA, Inc. has been an international member for ten years.
A government and consumer advocate for the HVACR industry, AHRI also produces certification programs and standards for applicable products. LG's air-conditioning systems conform to two different AHRI standards: ANSI/AHRI Standard 210/240-2008: Performance Rating of Unitary Air-Conditioning & Air-source Heat Pump Equipment, and ANSI/AHRI Standard 1230-2010 with Addendum 1: Performance Rating of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Multi-Split Air-Conditioning and Heat Pump Equipment.
Standard 210/240 establishes test, operation, minimum rating, and data requirements for unitary air-conditioning and air-source heat-pump equipment with less than 65,000 Btu/h (19,000 W) capacity. LG's Multi V Mini VRF product line falls under Standard 210/240, and has been tested and certified to the requirements of this standard.
To obtain AHRI certificates for each LG Multi V Mini product, click on http://www.ahridirectory.org/ahridirectory/pages/home.aspx to access the "Directory of Certified Product Performance" screen. Scroll down the "Residential" list to find "Variable Speed Mini Split and Multi Split Heat Pumps," and click on that.
On the "Search" screen, find the "Outdoor Unit Manufacturer" field and, from the drop-down menu, select "LG Electronics." Then, enter the "Security" code at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen and click "Search." Note that a new security code will be given each (unique) time the search screen is accessed.
The search results screen will display the AHRI certificate number, model status, rated specifications, and other information for each product. To download the AHRI certificate for a particular model, double click on that unit. The entire search results list can be exported into an Excel file by clicking the "Export" button found at the upper left hand corner of the screen. (For a copy of these instructions, click here.)
In 2010, AHRI released ANSI/AHRI Standard 1230-2010 with Addendum 1, which establishes test, operation, minimum rating, and data requirements for VRF multi-split air-conditioning and heat-pump outdoor units with capacities from >/=65,000 Btu/h up to 300,000 Btu/h. AHRI currently has a complete directory of these certified performance ratings at: http://www.ahridirectory.org/ahriDirectory/pages/vrf/VRFDirectory.pdf.
AHRI is currently developing a procedure to enable download of certificates (Ducted, Non-ducted, and Mixed Ducted and Non-ducted) based on outdoor unit model numbers currently contained in the VRF Certified Product Directory. The anticipated time of launch is September 2012.
